Good morning, we are back on a morning buoy at the Bora Bora Yacht Club. I use the term loosely. It is mainly a restaurant and 4 bungalows..but welcoming to cruisers. They offer free showers and these are the nicest we have seen since Mexico. Those small little perks. Yesterday we formally checked out of French Polynesia....kind of sad. It has all been incredible. Remembering back to the Marquesas, the youngest of the islands, with their incredibly steep mountains. Then to the Tuamotues, the oldest where the islands have collapsed, and everyone just lives on the reef atolls. Now in the Societies where the rugged islands exist sheltered by the reef. We have actually come away with a few Tahitian phrases that I know will stay with us. The weather has been very rainy for the past 3 days so we have not been that adventurous here in Bora Bora. We actually cancelled our diving yesterday...rain, wind and overcast did not thrill me. We spent yesterday researching the weather pattern. It looks like we will have a break for 3 days so we will leave tomorrow morning. Our goal is to do an overnight to the atoll of Maupihaa the smallest in the societies. About 6/9 people live here. We may end up there several days if the front we see on the weather charts comes through. There is a man in New Zealand that has a business helping cruisers with weather. We have sent him an email to ask which route he would recommend for us to take to Tonga. You will either go north near Suwarrow (Northern Cooks) then Samoa. Or we run a little south towards the southern cooks near Rarotonga. Today will be our last day with Internet for awhile. We will go back to using our sailmail account and Kate will keep you posted. Had lunch with some friends at Yacht Club. Everyone busy doing last minute wifi. Were able to Skype and talk to girls.....so I guess we are good to go. Wow it is hard to believe tomorrow is September 1. We left Seattle Sept 5 2 years ago. Love to you all. Xxoo Joyce
