Good morning – no. 20 Dear everyone: may the Lord give us all a good day. As I write, it is 11 p.m. here at Valdocco. I am waiting for a group of 500 young people from throughout Spain who will arrive tomorrow morning as part of a youth and Salesian pilgrimage. A few minutes ago I left the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. My heart had urged me to stay there a while, in the quiet of the church before the Lord, Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco, Mother Mazzarello and Dominic Savio. And thats what I did, in that order. It was also the end of August 5, a day that began in Mornese, and I felt it was the best way to close off a very special day. As I write, and letting my heart do the talking, I would just like to confirm what I have already said on a previous occasion: you were all present to me there, all of you. Although we may not have met yet, the human heart, mind and prayer have this ability to ‘transcend themselves’. I asked THE FATHER to help me and help us to be truly faithful in following His Son as true disciples. I entrusted to our Mother, the Help of Christians our entire Salesian Family and all our young people, her sons and daughters. I asked Don Bosco in a very special way to give me a heart like his for each of my sdb confreres, firstly, and for all of our Salesian Family and its mission in the world. Before Mother Mazzarello I placed all her Daughters and the Institute, with the beautiful mission that has also been entrusted to them. I asked Dominic Savio to intercede for boys, girls, teenagers and older youth around the world, especially those in every Salesian House. That was it. Very simple, but at the same time with the certainty of having experienced a wonderful communion amongst all these. May all Heavens blessings come down on you, With all my affection, Angel – Rector Major
