SJMC has planned a WORKSHOP on The Art & Business of of Advertising: Analysing Advertisements by Dr. Puja Mahesh, an eminent academic and expert on the subject from the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, Dwarka, New Delhi, on Saturday, 30 August 2014 in BS 09 from 11.30 to 1.00 pm. Do you know, according to an estimate, spending on advertising is estimated at more than $140 billion in the United States and more than $500 billion worldwide? Do you know, the biggest beneficiary of advertising spends in India in 2014 will be digital advertising which is expected to grow by 35 per cent over Rs 3,000 crores (more than US$ 500 million)? Do you know, Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, has launched its biggest advertising campaign in India? The company plans to spend about Rs 100–150 crore (US$ 16.68–25.02 million) on advertising in FY 2014–15. Flipkart & Snapdeal too are in the race. Whats your favourite ad on television?
