Good news - after I left yesterday my mom was able to get my dad to put in and keep in the NG Tube in him. They have removed another approx 6 liters of liquid (imagine like 3 - 2 liter bottles of soda out of your stomach) from his extended belly that has been in pain for months now. Consequently, he has not been on pain meds since yesterday and my mother has told the hospital not to give him any pain meds until he asks. Also good news the xrays do not show that his intestine is twisted after the surgery where the surgeon removed the football size lymphoma mass; thus, his colon should start to work eventually on its own and there appear to be signs that it is starting to try. The pathology report however does reflect he has lymphoma cancer and an aggressive growth type; thus, at some point my father will need more chemo. Many persons have told me that lymphoma is a more controllable cancer than others so keep the prayers that that will be the case for my daddy. In the meantime, I really need to raise donations for The American Institute Cancer Research - please just $10 from all my friends (see link below Team AICR) ....I think may take me over the $1,000 amount- I promised to raise $1,000 at least for cancer research.
