Good news! KMC MTB Bundesliga International 2015 Eliminator stays alive The KMC MTB Bundesliga International series will keep on sprinting. The six events of 2015 will all have an Eliminator races in their weekends program, continuing the history since 2008. There was no long discussion, after the UCI deciding to cancel the Eliminator from World Cup program. The Eliminator sprint at the KMC MTB Bundesliga after seven years is that well integrated in the events, that the organizers confirmed immediately to keep the young discipline alive as a fix part of the series. Four years before the first Eliminator world champion was crowned in Saalfelden, Austria, the KMC Bundesliga started to have this second competition in the weekends program of their events. No wonder, that Ralph Näf and Alexandra Engen exercised in the Bundesliga years before they become the very first world champions in this discipline. The system will stay the same. In Saturdays Eliminator the riders could earn half of the points as from the cross country race on Sunday. “It’s really great that the Bundesliga keeps it. Eliminator is always fun”, the two times Eliminator world champion Alexandra Engen comments on the decision. Apart from being removed from the UCI World Cup, world championships and European championships as well as national championships remain on the calendar. So the KMC Bundesliga works as a kind of competition training. One exception will probably be made. At the opener of the series, the Bosch Gold Trophy Sabine Spitz in Bad Säckingen, a Short Race replaces the Eliminator. But points for the KMC Bundesliga overall are given in the same way.
