Good news: The number of hospital-acquired conditions fell 17 percent between 2010-1013 resulting in lives saved and illnesses avoided. A new report on these trends credits increased public and private efforts toward patient safety. This includes the Affordable Care Act’s new incentives and the #ACAs Partnership for Patients, which has enrolled thousands of hospitals in a learning collaborative to share best practices for increasing patient safety.
