Good news for Nucor in Auburn: After Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and I pushed the International Trade Commission to fully enforce laws on unfairly traded imports of rebar, the Commission ruled that steel producers from Mexico and Turkey have caused economic harm to U.S. rebar. The Department of Commerce will now be able to impose new duties on Turkey and Mexico for dumping steel into the U.S. market. This will level the playing field and protect the 300 workers at Nucor in Auburn.
