Good news for the docs and hospital who will accept the new patients under the insurance exchanges. They will be able to expand like they did in Mass state. Just be prepared to pay them a little more to make up for the decrease in their income over the long run. Preventive care will place less patients into some subspecialties, (docs will be paid more to keep patients healthy, prevent disease) upside. Subspecialties will get more patient specific to their areas, sicker patients, need to work harder or add additional cost generating personnel or services to practice to get same or more income. Practicing Grandfather medicine will soon phase out, good for patient, but not for the provider who is planted in the way it used to be, (Downside).
