Good news shared by Mark Plotkin: The Colombian government has announced that it will more then double the size of Chiribiquete National Park, which will make it larger then the state of Massachusetts. It not only harbors extraordinary biological diversity but - in the words of the Colombians - represents "the largest, densest and most impressive pictographic archeological complex of northern South America, and represents a masterpiece of human creative genius because of the aesthetic refinement of the paintings, and a monument of universal value because of the anthropological importance of the representations of hunting, dancing and mythological scenes."
