Good news: we finally have an answer about why all of these things have happened since Geralds surgery. Bad news: its exactly what we didnt want to hear. There is definitely a leak from his stomach to his abdominal cavity and since having the dye injected today he feels like crap and there is definitely some bright red blood in his drain and tube. Im watching it for about thirty more minutes, if hes no better Ill be calling the surgeon again today and I have a feeling we will be back at the hospital. If the bleeding does stop, Im supposed to just remove the drain from suction and see if relieving that pressure will allow the hole to seal up on its own. If not- we are probably looking at a fourth surgery. Gerald: You know. I was reading through the risk factors for this surgery. They say: post op bleeding, abscess formation, leaking from stomach and death. As of today Ive officially checked off all of them except the last one. That pretty much sums up both of our frames of mind right now. I cant tell you how much all of your support has meant to us, and its really hard to ask for more, but we could really use some more happy thoughts and prayers for the next couple of days.
