Good night all you wonderful people. We had a lovely mum and dad - TopicsExpress

Good night all you wonderful people. We had a lovely mum and dad (to their daughter on Lower Rock Gardens) from Boulogne-sur-Mer last night. Tom and I love that town but there is no longer a ferry to the UK! It has wrecked their economy. Christine Dharwarkar will remember a 5am train from Blackfriars to Dover and a catamaran to there, with a group of about 8. As the train left Blackfriars we were fascinated by the breaking news about Richard Gere and a hamster. By the outskirts of London it had developed into a water buffalo. At Dover all the late risers had 8.30am burgers which, with the 9am lagers and a rough crossing made for plenty of people throwing up (wed had a fry-up at 3.30am and were fine). It was a day of bars, food, and shopping for wine. There was a football match against Paris St Germain and Tom made friends with all the fans. We spotted a lone woman in the corner who Tom suggested was a French lesbian, but she was a writer from Brighton! Then after a rougher crossing back, Tim Hardstaffs carrier bag of wine broke on Blackfriars Bridge and all was lost. Oh yes - guests - we tried to sneak in Marmite but mum took one sniff and thrust it back at us! Yet they eat Nutella! Its like spreading a half-melted Mars Bar on toast for breakfast- eugh!
