Good night at work. Awesome place, peers, guests. I smile now. =) Gotta work on matching the awesome. Try to better hold up my end. The job isnt rocket science, but it aint easy to hide the tension of stepping steadily away from the Chantix crutch. I smoked one cigarette today. This morning, around 9:30 am, leaving an 8 am staff meeting. Not good. My first table this PM, I screw up pretty good. Ring an entree wrong. Manager eats it, forgives me. Guests forgive me too. So thats a lot to be grateful for, but you know... youre still pissed off at yourself, or at your luck. I dunno. Just pissed. And later during the PM I used an unnecessary triple-seating as an excuse to cop openly surly for a bit. You know, like when you walk around, outta the guests sight, wearing angry face...? And later, ya look back at it and feel like a real dumbass? But thanks to those aforementioned awesome people, I got through it without actually biting anyones head off, nor getting mine bitten off. Grateful for THAT. This one cat... he actually checked with me on it. You need help with that table? Im free. Need anything? Nah, I got it. Thanks. You sure? You look upset. Can I help? (ceasing angry face right about now) No, seriously, its cool. Im just being recreationally surly because I got the triple seated card to play. But theyre easy. We got it. Thanks! So anyway, yeah, good night overall. Survived myself. Made good money. Bought groceries. Got home to find everyone doing well. Win. Hope your day rocked too. Cheers!
