Good preaching yesterday at Lando Church of God. The Pastor reminded us that we are the salt of earth....salt will burn a wound but in the process, healing. What better way to preserve...... On another note as I began my study for this morning I note how Jesus turned from Nazareth at the beginning of His ministry and went into Galilee of the Gentiles. He came to His own and they received Him not so He turned and went into Galilee. To a people that probably didnt know to much that went on in temple worship. To a people that were probably darkened in sin and a lot of them probably knew very little of God. The loss of Nazareth would be the gain of Galilee. Some have had Jesus preached to them sense childhood yet they still reject His gospel, they still want to live life their way. One day as I talked to a very old gentleman about salvation he told me that he had never hurt anyone, that he minds his own business and talks about no one. I told him that was good, probably better than most church goers, but I asked him did he know Jesus? He said no. It does not matter how you live, what you have done, you must know Jesus Christ. I know a lot of good people that do it their way.....I am sure Nicodemus, the Pharisee, was a good man in his own eyes. He came to Jesus by night to ask the question of questions. How can we enter the kingdom of God?: Actually he never got to ask the question, Jesus already knew what was in his heart, and answered, Ye must be born again Jesus knows our heart, he knows why we go to church and He knows why we dont...excuses will be no good, for He already knows the truth. Christians are suppose to be witnesses, to tell others about Christ yet many do not. They either dont want to make others mad, lose friends, ashamed, not knowing really what to say, etc.... If you are a child of God, you have a testimony, so not knowing what to say is an excuse, and not a very good one at that. If I did not know one scripture, I could tell you what Jesus did for me. As a matter of fact that is how I started...I told a friend that I had fished with for many years how Jesus had come into my heart and the wonderful change of heart that I have felt and how that all those burdens where lifted off my shoulders.....I tried to tell him how I felt but was unable to describe the feelings and the new birth, yet, in the midst of me talking and praising God, and lifting up His Son Jesus, my friend seen a light in me, a reflection of my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. We are suppose to be reflectors of His light...for we in ourselves are dirty rags, and a dirty mirror has little reflection. If you truly know Him, light will be reflected.... They say that the angels in heaven rejoice when a lost soul is saved, my friend is now in heaven rejoicing with those same angels that rejoiced when he gave his heart to the Lord.... How will they believe if they dont hear, and how can they hear without a preacher?
