Good time for this one I guess..Dallas,Texas..Dealy Plaza..I had finally realized I was not the hottest deep diver on the oil rigs..Far from it. Got back to McDermott dive headquarters after a 21 one day rotation. Sign on the bulletin board..Deep Diver needed..Allen Inspection Services..Casper Wyoming. Wanted some one stupid enough to do Hard hats dives on Damns in the area (Flaming gorge, springs to mind) Very deep, very dark. Got the job by phone. I was 26 years old. Caught a ride with two divers I knew on the rigs..They were heading for Alaska. I insisted on the way from Houston to Evanston Wyoming, we visit Dallas..I was paying for the gas so they had little choice.We walked around the plaza for an hour..Grassy knoll. All of it. I kept looking up at the 6th floor window of course..But, It was not like in the films and pictures..It was CLOSE..Have you been there? Picture the brick buildings at the corner of Main and North..Maybe two windows higher ..no more..Six floors..Bill Beck..one of the guys I was with said..What do you think Tracy?..Bill..I think I know at least 25 guys from my home town that could make those shots..Bolt action, Lever action..or any other kind of action.. easily.. Oswald wasnt just a hunter..He was Marine Sniper. Ill say that again slow..A Marine Sniper..A good one. High marks. He was also highly motivated to accomplish his mission. After that day I believe one looser changed the course of history.
