Good times - Silver struck it big, by serving it UP to Larry Pie tonight, plus- trumped his sister on manners...: I have a recurring (tongue in cheek) issue with Larry, because as I serve dinner (after an average of 5 hours cook/ prep time) he ALWAYS says, Wow, look at this! Dinner just gets dropped out of the sky. His implied, good intention is that he just came to the table and received a wonderful meal. I tease him about saying that, as it wasnt just dropped out of the sky, I WORKED on it. We had a discussion tonight about that being insulting and he clarified that he wasnt trying to insult, but rather being gracious. I jokingly offered an alternative : Wow, this is great. Thanks for taking the time to make all this food. Silver, as I served dessert: Mom, you really thought this out, nice job. Haha. Before dessert, I asked everyone to pass their plates, so I could clear them and get dessert ready. Violet got up to clear her plate and told Larry he better clear his. I told her the polite thing to do would be to say, Larry, can I take your plate for you?, as she was clearing hers. Silver, so ON IT, said immediately, Dad, can I clear your plate while Im taking mine?. * Good , SWEET boy, that one.
