Good turnout at the Fracking Forum tonight. Town hall meetings and public dialogue sessions are very important for making good policy... We are fortunate to have public officials who are willing to listen. We have brought in experts from the legal fields and the earth sciences to help educate local policy makers on the need for stronger regulations. Thats not always an adequate means of persuasion. Civil disobedience and direct action can influence policy as well. Perhaps our next educational forum on hydraulic fracturing should focus on bringing in experts to talk about the viability of these more unconventional means?
