Good video put together with many scraps. This was my airwing and my ship but two cruises after I had left sea duty. I only heard of LT. Sharp via the F-8 training squadron (VF-124) I was assigned to at the time. Many of the F-8s depicted in still shots are not of his squadron (VF-191). There is even a French F-8 depicted but the machines are all essentially the same to uninvolved observers, yet there were performance differences and improvements ongoing throughout the a/cs life. Much of the damage due to AA and SAM missiles show are really A4’s, not Crusaders. Still, a great rescue story. There is one frame of an F-8 with NM and a lightning bolt on the tail in color and the side number is 401. That aircraft was from my old squadron, Vf-194, and was typical of the paint scheme of that cruise. Make sure to watch to the end. What an awesome guy. https://youtube/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=o_qRuj50urI
