Goodbye England, we had a lot of fun...and maybe if it hadnt been for a procession of second rate Westminster politicians from the right and left of all nations and creeds from these Islands during the 20th Century things mightve worked out. Churchill was a shared favourite, and John Smith with Charter 88 almost could have changed it all...but for a long time now the writing has been on the wall. We lost our dominant global trading position, the Commonwealth trade links as well as the Empire, and if it hadnt been for Thatcherism in the latter stages maybe we still could have salvaged the UK. You just cant expect us to live in the same house anymore as the City of London, all those foreign Corporate headquarters...and your deregulated Banks - those kids are out of control! It must have been love, but its over now...and in September, were filing for Divorce. You can still visit and well try to stay friends, but were going to try start seeing other people and are going to ask the Nordic Council out. Please dont make the break-up difficult by trying to get us to do a confederate threesome with Ireland in the British Irish Council for old times sake...we really dont want that - its best this way. Oh aye, and you can have your Trident back - we wouldve held on to it for you if you hadnt stuck it near the centre of Glasgow?! Auf Wiedeshen Pet - and thanks for the memories. Just for the next nation that you hook up with though, and we dont want to seem bitter or that - but you should really look at your long-term debt to GDP ratio and get your inequality and social mobility sorted out x
