Goodbye Goodbye my old friend, I’ll see you in Heaven one day still wearing red. The Kop will be a sadder place without you, though quieter it has to be said! I can’t believe your dying before me, where’s the help that you need? I mean we’re only at a footy match mate, maybe no trust do we breed. I don’t think it’s my turn today fella; maybe God wants the better man. I’m not the type to say my prayers, but I’ll say one for you when I can. My coach home will carry your empty seat; I think it could be one of few. And Heaven will be an even better place now for having the likes of you. Mind you, you were always a bit of a tight sod, now you’ll see the match for free! So I when I meet up with you in Heaven, will you save a decent spec for me. Until that day arrives what I am supposed to do without my very best mate. I did all I could for you today, but sometimes for the best God’s unable to wait.
