Goodwill cannot exist without you, the community. We would like to thank YOU and everything you do to keep our mission strong. Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin’s mission is to build better communities by providing opportunities for people with disabilities or other challenges. Take some time to get to know your Goodwill. We recently published our 2014 summer newsletter where we present statistics and growth in our programs and company. Some information included: 126 individuals with significant disabilities were employed in the community through our Supported Employment services. All employees receiving our services earn minimum wage or higher. In 2013, the average hourly wage was $8.16 and the average length of time on the job was 8.3 years. 15,714,230 pounds of donated goods were diverted from area landfills and were instead used to generate revenue for life-changing services for people with disabilities or other challenges. Also, 54 individuals with chronic mental illness lived in our three group homes. While living in a group home, residents learn the skills and receive the support they need in order to transition into independent community living. And as a nonprofit organization, our financial records are publicly available. Less than 12 cents of every dollar earned goes toward administrative costs and we are able to help support our programs.
