Goofy Girl blog for 1/29/14 What observation did I see today? Things can get really difficult in banking. It is always good to have your hometown bank on your side. I paid two bills without a healthy deposit. Went like this......Ring Ring (telephone) Hi this is Teresa Bogener and I have made a boo boo. Let me get you to accounting. Hi this is --------First Bank of Newton, how can I assist you. Goofy Girl says.....blah, blah, blah, and the nice bank employer went through all the ramifications and the board meets to decide if to pay bad checks or charge consumer and probably when it all is said and done (all the while I am sure she is investigating the situation via computer she has) she says, I think.......you should be ok, pretty sure, by the way do you like Florida and how is the weather? I never lie to the bank......sorry Florida, we have lousy Januarys too. Oh well, MY OBSERVATION: STAY WITH YOUR HOMETOWN BANK FOR AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. AND......THE BUSINESSES OF VERO BEACH/ROCKRIDGE HONOR CHECKS WITH PROPER ID. One local antique shop said we take checks from all over. No one is from here lol. The business was being diplomatic. I will go back someday to the antique shop in the shopping center just up from 6th st. in Vero/Rockridge. Have fun today and be safe.
