Google, Apple, Logbar, Samsung, Sony, Qualcomm, Pebble, Motorola, Fitbit, Fuelband, Mio Global, Sync Active, Basis, Sensoree, Fin, Climbax, MIT, ETH Zurich, Razer, Katia Vega, Fugoo, etc, are all getting into the wearable tech industry and I say right now, this may be the year of wearable tech. BUT!!!!!! I also say that wearable tech is only going to be a short lived trend. Apple will soon be the be all, end all in the wearable tech industry REALLY soon, as it did with portable music and cell phones. Shortly thereafter, however, Googles Ray Kurzweils dreams will begin to take over the entire tech industry and the world. Ray Kurzweil envisions a world where the computers do everything and man can enjoy life without doing the work of life. He also envisions a world where every event of every person including their thoughts can be regularly uploaded to computers and therefore allow a person (their personality and personal digital interaction) to live forever. What he envisions is 2-fold. First, Artificial Intelligence grown by Google, Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, etc that have been programmed all for free by real people in real time 24 hours a day 7 days a week all around the globe. So all these options combined on how people act, react, and advertize what they do and how they do it can make really good digital people and in many cases can continue to be you even after you are gone. Second, he envisions a world where the human body can get implants that not only can interact with the nervous system and become artificial limbs, but can also interact with the human brain. With these two items combined, very soon, we could have androids walking around that are completely human looking and acting, robots doing normal and intricate jobs that only humans could previously do, humans walking around with machine parts in them and even enabling them to do what is now considered super-human activities, people could access the internet with their minds through imbedded implanted WiFi, and on and on.... So wearable tech will soon give way to imbedded implanted tech placed inside us. I know they already have some of this in action, like RFID chips, GPS implants in children and dogs, Smart Pacemakers, and even nerve interceptors and boosters. I dont think ALL of the above options will be available by 2015, lol, but the time it took us to invent the home PC and take it on the World Wide Web was 24 years from a few days ago. The time it took us to take that to an unplugged internet streaming device was less than 10 years ago. The time it will take us to the next step of implanted tech, I think, is shorter than 3 years for much of the things I mentioned and no more than 10 years for it all, IF it seems needed at the time, because maybe certain steps or things could be skipped and we move right to 2 steps in the future at points. kurzweilai.net/ray-kurzweil-biography en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Kurzweil
