Google Street View shows Britains canals and rivers for the first time The #Google Trekker explores some of the countrys remote locations as a virtual map of huge stretches of Britains waterways goes live. Google has taken its quest to map the world to increasing remote locations, and a virtual map of more than 130 miles of some of the nation’s most iconic waterways has now gone live online. The project was announced last year, swapping the Street View car for a device mounted on a backpack, known as the Trekker, in order to access to hard-to-reach places. Reports the Telegraph.
