Google has partnered with Autism Speaks to help search for clues to the genetic causes of autism by utilizing its expertise in recognizing patterns. This partnership will sequence the genomes of 10,000 people on the autism spectrum, along with their family members. Google will host and index the data, allowing researchers to easily share very large files - a single human genome can run 100 gigabytes!
