Google is continuing its extremely poor and pathetic management of YouTube, turning it from a free-for-all platform that everyone can enjoy, into an Apple-esque service where the person that pays the most wins. YouTube has been steadily declining since Google acquired it in 2006. From its extremely poor management of copyright infringement that punishes everyone, to its forced integration with the cancerous Google+ and the ever increasing amount of ads users are forced to put up with. And if youre like me, and tired of the bombardment of ad after ad and turned to adblock, the reality is that the only people youre hurting is the users who earn money off those ads on their content. Google used to be one of the few companies in the tech industry that people could trust to do the right thing, but its been made clear over the last year and a half that it is not worthy of that trust. Its consistently pandering to record labels and the MPAA, and screwing over the very users that allowed YouTube to grow into the profitable endeavour it is for them today.
