Gospel 008- Motivated by LOVE! Finally! We have come to the end of this series but the preaching of the Gospel still continues, it doesnt end here, it ends at the coming of Christ( Im so looking forward to that day). By the way, well be taking the ministers offering at the end so get your hearts ready to give unto the Lord. No #50, #100, and #200 or #500 notes please. God doesnt like petty money, we take only #1000 notes, foreign currency and cheques. #winks# Now lets get serious. I am not against living a Holy life or doing good works. The whole point of this series is to establish the fact that our salvation is by Grace and it is ETERNAL! However, this is not to say we should just sit and do nothing. We are called to do good works not DEAD WORKS. Humanly speaking, to live a Holy Life and do good works is impossible. But with God, all things are possible. As believers who have a relationship with God, it is not us living but Christ living through us- Gal 2:20. When you know and understand the love of God, you are able to forgive others without stress, you are able to love people who seem unloveable because you understand the unconditional love of God. All our good works, living a Holy life and the fruits of salvation are borne out of love. Instead of doing all these things out of fear of punishment, we do it out of love. Before now, I had always been shy to preach the gospel. I hardly shared ma Faith with anyone except when we go for group evangelism or I heard a scary message implying that if I dont win souls for Christ, Ill go to hell. But today, I am compelled to share ma faith with anyone, anywhere, anytime. After seeing a movie at the cinemas, I can boldly walk up to someone and talk to the person about the Love of Christ. I know the love of God, I have experienced it and Im still experiencing it. I cant keep it all to maself, I just have to tell others because I want them to have the same experience. If we truly love God, our pastors would not have to force us to read our bibles, pray, fellowship with other believers and so on. These things will just come to you naturally without anyone cajoling you to do it. 1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. We dont love God before He loves us. We love because He has loved us and His love for us is what drives us to love Him back and love others. You cant give what you dont have. The problem with a lot of us is that we are trying to live a Holy life and do good works to earn Gods love. Thats putting the cart before the horse. All that we do should be because we have experienced Gods love. 1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. If you would receive the unconditional love of God and let that love dwell in you, loving others would be as easy as breathing. Once you understand Gods love and His love begins to flow out of you, it will cause you to live Holy. Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. In conclusion, Romans 12:2 talks about renewing our minds. Its not enough to just know these things, we should constantly renew our minds to these truths by studying the word. If you will spend time with the word and praying, trust me, these truths will so become a part of you and the word will gain ascendancy over your mind. This will in turn bring a transformation in the way you live. I really hope this series has helped open your mind to the truth of the Gospel. You still have any questions or doubts?
