Gospel Music Heritage Month #Day15: EVANGELIST ROSIE WALLACE-BROWN (1935-2014) The late Rosie Wallace of Philadelphia, PA was a well-loved person whether you knew her personally or not. Many of you may be familiar with her work as the accompanist or lead singer for the Imperial Gospel Singers (founded by the late Anna Smallwood) and others may know her as the pastor of the First Church of Love, Faith & Deliverance. However you know Rosie Wallace, she has been such an influence on many! Several people have been affiliated with the ministry of Evangelist Rosie Wallace, including Ms. Lois Snead, who also did several albums with Dorothy Norwood. The pen of Rosie Wallace has wrote many songs that have captured the hearts of listeners. Songs such as Wake Up In Glory, I Cant Turn Around Now, Hold On, Get Your Business Fixed, and I dare to say the most popular of them all is God Cares. The radio station back in Baltimore used to play it all the times in the 1980s and early 90s, over 20 years after it was originally recorded. In May of this year, after a lengthy illness, Overseer Rosie Wallace passed away; however, her works will live on! Below is a video of Rosie Wallace singing her hit song God Cares. She is accompanied by the New Hope Baptist Church Choir of Newark, New Jersey. This is the same choir the late Whitney Houston sung in as a youngster. Enjoy!
