Gospel reflection: April 20, 2013 – Easter John 20:1-9 This is the first Sunday after Jesus’ death. On Friday His life ended after crucifixion preceded by taunts, scourges, beatings and exhaustion from carrying a heavy wooden cross. Mary of Magdala was mourning his death. Tearful and curious, she went to the tomb only to find out that the stone was rolled back. Trembling, she looked inside and did not see Jesus’ body – only his burial garments and the head one rolled up and aside. Running and out of breath, she told Peter and John. They also run quickly. It was as Mary said. John saw and believed in Jesus’ rising from the dead. Is my faith strong as John’s in believing that the Lord has arisen, whole and glorious? Have I removed some of the garments that have enveloped my life? Prayer: Alleluia! Alleluia! He is risen as He said. Let be glad and rejoice! Alleluia! Sister Noemi Tereszkiewicz, CSFN
