“Gossip and Backbiting” Prophet (saw) said: “The slanderer (One who slanders or defames the name or reputation of another person) will not enter Paradise.” (Bukhari & Muslim) Prophet (saw) said: The worst among the servants of Allah are those who gossip and create rifts between friends. (Tirmidhi). When Prophet (saw) was asked which of the Muslims were best.? Prophet (saw) said: He whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe from. (Bukhari & Muslim) **This is Not Hadith** Advice from scholars of Islam. Imam Al-Ghazali said: The tongue is a great endowment from Allah; though small in size, its crime is enormous. Imam Al-Shafi’i said: “If you wish to speak then it is upon you to think before you speak. If you think there is good in it then speak and if not then do not speak.”
