Got a dog with recurring ear infections? Try this to help. Put white vinegar ( or you may choose to cut it with water 1 to 1 in his ears (I use a syringe - very gently - or a left over squirt bottle from throat spray, its a gentle spray) and then give them hooves or something they will chew for hours/days. Put the vinegar in one or twice a day. Vinegar cuts greasy ear wax and lets it be pumped out by the chewing action. Chewing engages the muscles that pump out the wax from the ear canals. It works like a charm on my Shar Peis and they have the smallest ears canals of any breed. You can massage behind the ear to let the vinegar go into the ear canal. And clean the cracks and crevasses in the outer ear to keep the channels open for the gunk to come out. You might see a LOT of black stuff coming out and that is good. Keep it up and soon you may see that the ear problem is under control. But dont give up, just do it fewer times to keep the wax from building up again. PS never stick a Q tip into the ear hole. You may be packing it and causing a bigger problem. This way will let nature heal itself.
