Got a hopeful diagnosis FiNALLY on my elbow. I have been dealing - TopicsExpress

Got a hopeful diagnosis FiNALLY on my elbow. I have been dealing with pain and weakness in my dominant arm for approximately five years. Ive been to physiologists, orthopedists, neurologist, physical therapy etc. (a neurologist in Wenatchee literally told me it was ridiculous I was there because she didnt see carpal tunnel... um.. well if I dont have carpal tunnel, its got to be something else right? ) During which time I went for three years without insurance so got nowhere. Nobody during this time suggested an MRI or Ultrasound. How the hell am i supposed to know what to request? Recently a lump formed near my elbow which has taken it from chronically painful and weak to freakin excruciating. Evidently Ive gone from chronic tendonitis to tendonosis which is tendonitis on steroids from what I understand. I still dont know where this leaves me treatment wise but will meet with a surgeon next month, (yes another month of waiting) . Regardless at least I have a place to start. I have done a relatively good job of making accommodations for myself (its amazing what you can do using just your forearms) but I cant even begin to describe how this has affected my career and other things in my life. Including friendships, It is amazing how judgmental people become when they cant see your disability. I even had one friend tell me that she is sure that walking or playing with my dog is the cause of my pain LOL. Basically anything I do with my arm exacerbates it. So the next person who wants to judge me, I challenge you to whack yourself in the elbow with an encylopedia, and walk around like that for a week then come back and tell me how it feels. :)
