Got a little summer project going on in the Werks Racing NZ - TopicsExpress

Got a little summer project going on in the Werks Racing NZ workshop. Even though Im not currently racing (and had sold all my gear late last year), I am still perpetually impressed and intrigued by these awesome little 1/8 scale gas off-road cars. Pretty much everything a full sized pure breed race car chassis has, including a crazy power to weight ratio thanks to some incredibly engineered engines, with totally amazing hp per cubic inch figures. All that, and they run on exotic nitro methane enhanced fuels as well. Simply put, for a born and bred petrol head, these things rock !! I was missing my little buggy very much, so I managed to grab the last X-Ray XB8 2014 Spec kit in the country off Bev and Trev at Zoom resources to build up a play / display buggy. The XB8 14 will be fitted with all our products, and will sort of act as a moving display of what Werks Racing NZ can offer customers in the way of power plant and drive line products. It will also feature other products that we personally use and recommend, sourced from other local NZ RC businesses. Construction is under way (see left hand picture), and a nice shiny new Werks B6 Pro Series motor is on the well worn run-in bench (see right hand picture). When completed the buggy will feature: Werks B6 Pro Series (5 Port) engine running the Werks EFRA 2058 pipe and header set. Engine will be fitted with a Buku front bearing seal kit, and be running a 32mm Werks Pro Series 4 shoe clutch with alloy shoes in conjunction with an APlus 13T bell using TKO RT clutch bearings (and Speed X bearing Lube). Werks #5 hot glow plug Werks Race Blend 30% fuel KO Propo RSx2 7.4 volt Power 31kg hi-torque steering servo SAVOX 7.4v 21kg hi-speed throttle servo PTRC premium shock and diff oils AKA Tyres Ive put 10 or so X-Ray buggy kits together now - starting back in 2008 with the original new platform 808, through to the new generation XB8 2014 platform. Every kit has been an incredible build. Not a screw or shim out of place in the kits, and then there is that hand in glove fit of every individual part that people have come to expect from X-Ray / Hudy. We are very lucky to have Bev and Trev at Zoom Resources making these incredible kits available to us here, as well as providing a great parts and back up service. It shouldnt go unnoticed that X-Ray XB8s finished 1st & 2nd in the recent Nationals ......... X-Ray / Werks is a mighty combination - so if your looking at a new buggy, or just looking for a change - give us a call. We can sort you out with everything you need power plant / drive chain wise, and also connect you up with some of the top ancillary equipment you will find available here in NZ. Will post up some more pictures as the project buggy comes to life.
