Got a minute? Awesome. Youve got a Yoga Break! Heres something fantastic for your low back and hamstrings after a day of walking *or* sitting - and its also great for refreshing your perspective. If youve got a wall, youre good to go! So - go to your wall, and back up against it. Set your heels right under your hip joints, and fold forward. Let your arms dangle or hold on to your elbows. Now make some adjustments - get your heels as close to the wall as you can. Ground into your feet - press your inner ankles towards the wall youre leaning on, and your outer ankles towards the floor. Increase the rigor in your legs - hug your shins toward the center of your mat. This is a muscle action - keep your feet where they are. Bring it into your thighs - rotate your thigh muscles in a bit. Loosen up your knees. Take your breath slow and deep, and let your body deepen into the fold on its own - you provide support with the muscular rigor in your legs. When you feel the fold deepening, draw your belly in. Remember - no force, no pushing! Let yourself relax into this one, and explore how rigor can help create ease. Stay as long as you like! Namaste!
