Got a question on a late 99 7.3..has s&b cai and the stock 3 1/2 inch exhaust and most say thats plenty if u dont haul a lot and I dont ...but when I added the tuner and played with the 140hp setting I didnt realize the muffler connection to the pipe was rusted so after a few minutes driving and racing around I started to get lots of turbo surge and notor got very loud.. Finally realized I blew my muffler off so it was running straight 3 1/2... Got it welded back on and the surge stopped and rarely ever happened again...I wanna straight pipe it but Im afraid itll cause the surge again... Anyone think it being a straight pipe for a few hours is because it had hardly no back pressure from muffler being blown from the pipe
