Got a wonderful call of support tonight from an old friend none other than Pete Grymkowski one of the former owners along with Tim Kimber and Ed Connors , of the Mecca of bodybuilding Golds Gym of Santa Monica/ Venice California. It seems like yesterday that Pete and Tim headed out to California to meet Ken Sprague and purchase Golds. I have so many good memories of Pete and Tim from the early days of my first gym in 1977. Pete and Danny Padilla were the guest posers at the first show I ever promoted The Empire State in 1979 and Tim won the show. And I have so many great memories of Petes dad Mr G who loved to play with my infant daughters at the gym. God rest his soul. I look forward to speaking to Pete again soon. Rochester has so many bodybuilding athletes to be proud of and Pete was one of the best and biggest in the world. In fact he won the title of Mr. World to go along with a number of amateur wins including the 1968 Mr Rochester title and even a Jr USA title. Both Pete and Danny grace one of my walls in my gym in a painting that was done in the 80s. Great hearing from you Pete.
