Got back my AncestryDNA results today, and they told me my ethnicity was: 57% Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland together) 21% Scandinavia (Viking ancestors?) 5% Iberian Peninsula (Wonder if Im descended from someone in Wellingtons army? Or some British national in Gibraltar who married a Spaniard?) 3% Ireland 2% Italy/Greece (that was a bit of a surprise) trace% Asia South (India/Pakistan--given the number of Englishmen in my family tree, and the history of the area, this didnt surprise me that much) trace% Eastern Europe trace% Caucasus (Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, etc--no idea how that got there!) My German ancestry didnt show up at all, which surprises me a lot. I know for a fact my great-great-great grandparents came over from Germany during the Unification Wars. And because Im the only family member to try this (so far), I dont know what came from which side of the family. There is still much investigating to do :-D
