Got curious and decided to take a look at the remake of Carrie. It comes to no surprise, but this is just another shitty disservice that Hollywood keeps doing to classic movies. As talented as Chloe Moretz or Julianne Moore, this movie was doomed from the start. The original was nominated for two Academy Awards for lead and supporting actress. This one feels too contrived and trying too hard to emulate the original, but by modernizing it. It just fails in its attempt. Smart phones and over the top special effects just cant salvage the mess this movie truly is. Im so glad I didnt waste my money at the theater when you can skim this trash from the comfort of your own home. Its superficial at best and a tragic mess at worst. Why cant they fix terrible movies. Even then, if it didnt work the first time, perhaps theres a reason, but when a movie is already good as is, theres no need to revisit it. Just because civilization in this country is beginning to dummy down, it doesnt mean that the visual arts such as cinema should be brought down by the menace conformity. It might sound condescending, but I believe that there are problems that really need fixing, not movies. Perhaps, if they utilize that money they use on crap like this, it might help youths get an education. However, its not how the movie industry works. Its a joke on how much money they throw away on this campaign to ruin cinema with daft versions of solid original movies. Not to say that Carrie is an original movie, its an adaptation of a Stephen King novel. FYI for those who dont know -_-. The first adaptation of this book is a classic. Its not perfect, but its solid. On the other hand, this remake is just a messy rip off. Sorry, Kimberly Pierce, but your crowning achievement will forever be Boys Dont Cry. Because you cant think of better ideas to create into movie format, dont take it out on past films who were already good as they were. What happened to people valuing ORIGINALITY?
