Got hit squarely in the back by a wasp about a week ago. Only way to get relief from the sting was to back up to the edge of a doorway and rub my back against it. The wasp was small, had more of a green & black stripe pattern instead of the usual yellow & black pattern...and aggressive as hell. Didnt think much of it but found the nest and killed all that nested there. Then, just the other day, my wife gets hit on the left shoulder blade by the same kind. She was apparently a little more sensitive because it caused a lot more swelling of the sting area associated with hive running inside the tender parts of her arms. A benadryl tablet took care of the sting reaction and a mix of warm water, dawn dish soap, and a little peppermint oil took care of the wasp nest. Ive got a week off from work next week so, I think Ill wage war on all Guinea Wasps I find on my property. (I dont know if thats what they are called...but thats what Im calling them.) They hit you with a hard thud then it feels like somebody is putting out a cigarette on ya.
