Got lucky ordering a Kaweco Sport from Goulet Pens a couple of days ago (clear bodied w/ removable clip). Casually asked Caitlin if they had any whole blttles of J. Herbin Stormy Grey 1670 ink. AND THEY DID. The last time Goulet had them, they sold out in three hours. Many pen companies cant get this ink at all so I am anxiously awaiting delivery of this unique pen and striking, rare ink. They will go well together. See pics. The 1st review (attachment) exaggerates the gold flecking in the ink because of the bright camera lighting. In a normally incandescent interior, it is much more subtle. A few pics down in the review shows the same clear pen filled w/ this same ink. Aside, J. Herbin is the oldest continuously active ink manufacturer in the world, founded 1670, now in Paris. There are only three inks in the commemorative 1670 series, and I now own all three, blue, grey, and red. The latter two contain gold flecking. Bleu Ocean 1670 does not, and I disagree w/ critics who think it should, mainly for the following reasons. This blue is truer to the actual inks made by the founder in 1670. Secondly, the 2nd review (see 1st comment below) shows some fascinating blends in increments of 25%. Of the three 1670 inks, the blue is the most likely to be blended, I think. The better for nuance that people who blend inks at all thrive upon. Fountain Pen Network is for serious geeks only. Oh get a life! you say. Pass. Ive had one, several actually, that others wd envy. I like this a lot better. fountainpennetwork/forum/index.php/topic/277147-stormy-grey-j-herbin/
