Got myself an early Christmas gift last week. The hype is entirely warranted, but there is no one way to describe Black Messiah. I think the highest compliment anyone can give the album is that it makes a seamless transition out of a 15-year gap since Voodoo. That alone is an achievement very few composers who have ever lived could possibly reach. Those of us who have loved his work should be infinitely grateful DAngelo pulled his life together enough to share this with the world. It sounds like hes really having fun doing this again. Several songs may pass under the radar for a while. This is the albums finale, which is pure 70s mastery, with a touch of 80s Prince.
