Got this email from the volunteer coordinator at the hospital a couple of days ago, and I am speechless...so incredibly touched. Of course we will have another visiting story! Sooo, one of our employees came in yesterday with two “get well” baskets for Chance…yup! The first graders at an elementary school in Brighton heard about his snake bite and spent their own allowances to buy him one laundry basket full of toys and one full of treats. They also took some class photos and they’re in the basket with get well cards. It’s so darn cute! The class decided they wanted to do this project. We’ll take Chance to the classroom for a visit. The kids would LOVE it. The best toy in there is a big squeaky snake. There are Post-Its all over him: “Back attcha,” “what goes around, comes around,” “Chance’s REVENGE,” “who’s the bad boy now?,” etc. I love it. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
