Got this from Jeff Liakos...Im a Fair Tax proponent..like the way we are all involved..no one escapes the tax issue...and the rich (because they spend more) would pay a larger share. So, its progressive..but causes every eye to be on the damn fools that spend our money. I would prefer a zero based budget each year...one in which we add up all the costs of running the Nation...determine how much we need to raise..no borrowing, in the normal run of things...and then establish a consumption tax rate, that is, sales tax..or Fair Tax that we all pay. One of the nice things..is that every human that spends a dollar in the US would contribute towards our tax burden..every American would be looking at the tax every day..as they buy the things they need..and if some SOB charged more..then the question would, invariably, raised as to why?. Its a uniter of Americans..we all could look each other in the eye.. Theres many more facets that I like...but the ones Ive mentioned here, alone, would be enough for me to switch!
