Got this letter from my primary-care doctor today: Dear Ms. Le Beau, You have not had an appointment at this office in over 5 years. Please call the office to schedule an appointment. If we do not hear from you in the next 60 days, your chart will be removed from our patient database and you will no longer be a patient here. Please let us know if you have transferred your care. OK. I can see a doctors office wanting to know whether a patient has switched doctors (though wouldnt the new doctor have asked for a records transfer?). But to tell me I should schedule an appointment just because I havent had one in over five years? HELLO! Maybe thats because I havent *needed* one in over five years! Sigh.
