Got this message in my inbox purportedly from a friend on Facebook. We have never exchanged messages before. It reads: Good morning and how was your night dear? Hope you slept well? Hope you had a wonderful weekend sweetie,Happy new month. Wishing you a blessed and favored month, have a fulfilled and blessed week ahead.. please dear I need your helping hand and it’s a life safer, I lost my grandma a week ago, and I need to travel home today or tomorrow for me to sort things out and attend her burial, really in distress right now coz my mom just pass away last year and my grandma is the only family I got left and now she gone, I really don’t know where to run to that is why I am asking you for this favor dearie, please could you help me out with some money to travel to Oshogbo today or tomorrow to attend my grandma burial please I beg you in the name of almighty God, I beg you with all that matters to you, I beg you with my late parent and grandma’s death please, even has I am writing you now I have not eaten since yesterday afternoon am very stranded in school and I don’t even have money to keep body and soul together, please I beg you in the name of almighty God please help me out here, I will forever appreciate your helping hand and it will be in heart forever… I owe you one, God will bless and favor all your dealings.. Now I am without doubt that the account has been compromised and is being used to send messages soliciting for funds. My thought now is whether anyone has received this kind of message purportedly from me. I am therefore using this medium to tell everyone to disregard any such messages. God forbid that i need help from friends, I know how to get in touch.
