Got this scary email from Emilys school today. Its in Brentwood so be careful with your kids Dear Krey Families, The purpose of this email is to make you aware of a suspicious circumstance that occurred over the weekend involving one of our Krey families. A green colored SUV with stickers or decals chased one of our students who was walking from a friend’s house across the court to the student’s home. The following day this same student and a friend spotted the SUV again, this time a male stopped and asked the two if they were lost. They said, “No” and the suspect exited the car. He chased both children as they entered the friend’s home. He yelled through the door and made threatening comments. The male suspect was described as having grey hair, a grey beard and grey mustache. He had a woman with him who was described as having brown hair. This suspicious incident was reported to the Brentwood Police Department. I want to encourage everyone to always contact the police department immediately if a suspicious incident occurs. This incident reminds us all that our children need to know how to respond in situations that involve strangers. Teaching your child how to dial 911 and how to respond to strangers is important in keeping them safe. While we don’t want our children to become alarmed or frightened we do need them to understand how to react appropriately. The following websites are resources that can assist you in discussing safety with your child. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions you might have. ncpc.org/topics/violent-crime-and-personal-safety/strangers safetycops mychildsafety.net/stranger-danger.html Sincerely, Brian Jones Principal R.
