Got three short stories out now that it seems like have an actual shot at being picked up and printed (which of course will just make it worse when they get rejected...) so while the awful waiting game goes on all there is to do is write more. Ive noticed most of my stories are way above the standard word count that any of the publications Im interested in go for, so Im trying to write something much shorter than my usual 5 - 7 thousand words, but Im finding it difficult - how do you properly tell a story and get your point across with so few words? Rather than try to cram it all in and not write the way I write, for this story Im purposefully removing the beginning and ending: this will be all the middle of the story, with everything extraneous removed. No names, no locations, just the view point of two characters getting across the main themes: what if salvation was worse than death, and what if you made an absolutely terrible mistake by helping someone? https://youtube/watch?v=gyvOWXA4YOY
