Gothic culture (music, literature, architecture, fine arts, fashion and so on) - Episode 13 - PARADISE LOST - True Belief - definitely one of the best gothic/doom song of this band and one of the best songs ever of this genre! I remember that I was fascinated by it 20 years ago when I first heard this track. It is from the ICON album which was released in 1993 and which is in my opinion the best album of Paradise Lost. I was born in 1974. 20 years after, in 1994, I had the chance to see live Paradise Lost for the first time! 20 years after that concert I had the chance again to see them live :) The drummer of the band is half Romanian - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Erlandsson Enjoy and please LIKE and SHARE \m/ Paradise Lost is one of those three British bands which had founded the doom/dark/gothic metal genres in the early nineties (Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema). They are very important bands for the history of music so I will post more than just one song from each one of them... The British Gothic is quite different than the American and continental Europes Gothic. Together with their early doom/dark/death/gothic metal genres these three bands that I mentioned above combine on their albums many genres like progressive, alternative or symphonic metal also. But they were very creative and influential opening new musical territories. Let me confess you that Im one of those happy people who had the chance to see live Anathema and Paradise Lost 20 years ago, in 1994, when they were the pioneers of a new wonderful, deep emotional and profound music that was never listened before. Îmi amintesc că am fost fascinat de această piesă acum 20 de ani, cnd am ascultat-o pentru prima dată! Este de pe albumul ICON din anul 1993, cel mai bun album al trupei Paradise Lost, în opinia mea. M-am născut în 1974. 20 de ani mai târziu, în 1994, am avut șansa să văd live trupa Paradise Lost pentru prima dată! La alți 20 de ani distanță de acel concert, am avut șansa să îi văd din nou live :) Paradise Lost este una dintre cele trei trupe britanice care au fondat genurile doom/dark/gothic la începutul anilor 90 (Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride și Anathema). Aceste trupe sunt foarte importante pentru istoria muzicii astfel că voi posta mai mult decât o singură compoziție a fiecăreia dintre ele. Gothicul britanic este destul de diferit de cel american, dar și de cel continental european. Împreună cu elementele doom/dark/death/gothic ale stilului lor de început, aceste trei trupe menționate mai sus au combinat pe albumele lor diferite alte genuri precum rockul progresiv, cel alternativ ori metalul simfonic. Dar ele au fost deosebit de creative și influente, deschizând noi teritorii în muzică. Vă mărturisesc că am avut șansa să mă număr printre fericiții care i-au văzut live pe cei de la Anathema și Paradise Lost acum 20 de ani, în 1994, pe când ei erau pionieri ai unei noi muzici minunate, care generează emoții adânci și care este una deosebit de profundă, nemafiind auzită până atunci... I will try to present information about different groups of people who share some things that became a target for hate and misunderstanding. But its important to build our democratic societies based on tolerance and respect. So lets celebrate people and diversity! There is a lot of beauty, romanticism, deep emotions and even joy in darkness. You have to look at and to explore it in order to discover stars. Some people feel and understand this. Sunt încă numeroase prejudecăți, intoleranță și discriminare în lumea noastră. Voi încerca să prezint informații despre diferite grupuri de oameni care împărtășesc anumite lucruri devenite o țintă pentru ură și neînțelegere. Dar este important să ne construim societățile democratice bazându-ne pe toleranță și respect. Așa că haideți să celebrăm oamenii și diversitatea! Este foarte multă frumusețe, romantism, emoții profunde și chiar bucurie în întuneric. Trebuie să privești și să explorezi întunericul pentru a descoperi stelele. Unii oameni simt și înțeleg asta.
