Gotta be honest here... Its been a long week and its been a pretty - TopicsExpress

Gotta be honest here... Its been a long week and its been a pretty turbulent year. In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, i just wanted to share this... Looking back, 2014 has had its ups and downs. We have lost gigs, but gained friends. Weve hit some major highs and had to own up to some personal major lows. In the moment, as is life, they seemed monumental. But when you look back, you have to decide whether they were wins or losses. As a band, I have to believe they were all wins. Even in their ugliness, something good came from them. We went from 450 fans in January of 2014 to over 14,000 here and now. We wrote and released our second CD, What Doesnt Kill You. We went from 790 views on our videos to 16,749 globally. That was amazing! We had two tracks released on local radio and another 5 air online. We have laid some friends to rest and help raise money so that others could live another day. We started (and put on hold) a video series... SIDE NOTE: Wait until 2015.... Most importantly to me personally... We gained enough recognition that a particular new fan in Texas found us and drove all the way to Delaware to see one of our shows. That man was my father who I had not seen in nearly 15 years. So to anyone who says music doesnt unite us, I have proof that says otherwise. Without coming a dime out of pocket, our fans -YOU GUYS- helped raise enough money for us to travel to Louisiana to shoot a video for Mary Brown. Some of you (WHO WE PROUDLY CALL FAMILY) actually came with us during the video shoot. Your friendship, love and support was worth every mile. We raised enough money from gigs to build a brand new studio and replace some old equipment. We were given the chance to be called back and play in front of 10,000 people at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, but had the time of our lives at a local gig that required the owners to call in extra wait staff and eventually run out of food for the night. We even turned down a record contract because we knew it would ruin us. As hard as it was to do, we did it for the right reasons. We did it for the love of staying true to music and knowing that we werent ready for it. We may never get that chance again, but I know we wont lose sleep over it. We have been blessed with something bigger than we could have hoped for; the chance to keep doing what we love. We would play to just ourselves if thats what it came down to. But through each of you, weve traveled one step closer to realizing a dream. Every song we have ever written was played for the first time ONCE. Its because of you guys, that they have been played over and over again (32,421 plays as of this message in 46 states and 22 countries). To that I say thank you and our promise to you is simple; 2015 is going to bring you more than ever before. As of tomorrow, we are going to be disappearing for a time. We will stay in touch online here, but we will be going off grid until April 2015. This is completely intentional and completely necessary. We are doing this because when we come back online we want to give you something that you have not seen before from us. You have heard of bands like Aerosmith and Matchbox Twenty. But you probably cant say you helped get them noticed. Our game plan, our mission, is to come back and make a noise that will be heard everywhere. We do this for music. We do this out of desire. But please never forget we do this because of you. Stay the course, keep vigilant. Dont give up on us. Were about to come alive. We our preparing to make you proud. We are preparing for something great. We love you guys. And with that, Id like to leave you with this first glimpse of things to come. It all starts from ground zero, so fittingly, here is our Freshmen effort.... youtu.be/sJ5YyB9vp6Y Catch you on the B-Sides... Brian/Shades of August
