I did and still support the Egyptian armys coup against the Muslim Brotherhood regime last July, for the simple reason that military dictatorship is preferable to theocratic dictatorship. However some of the things the current government is doing are just retarded. Like sentencing 1,167 MB members and their supporters to death. What I find so objectionable about this is neither the number, the rationale, nor the complete disregard for due process, but the fact that the judiciary ITSELF knows that not one of these people will fry. Essentially, these are fake sentences. If the judiciary has no real intention of executing any of these people, why is it unnecessarily injecting more pain into a society thats already tortured? Thats like telling someone they have a terminable disease when in fact they dont.
