Gotta give it to the English and to an extent the Europeans..... always ahead of the curve when it comes to controlling the economic edge through capture of the hearts and minds of people..... they always find a way ..... agriculture, industrialization, colonization and empire, industrial hub producing for colonies, leading in provision of financial legal and other services and now the hegemonic all encompassing football industry ... as soon as one gig is in decline they quickly move on to the next big thing and are so singleminded in their pursuit of that next big thing that they eventually dominate!!!!! The fascinating thing is that when its time to let go they seemingly let go but in reality they only tweak the model and adjust to suite current trends. Take colonization...... eventually they let go of the colonies.... not without a struggle but soon enough to ensure enough goodwill to enable them continue to access raw materials and remain the industrial hub.. when industry moved east they quickly transformed into financial service providers to the world.... even before that gig started experiencing decline they had put in the foundation for a world domination in the multi-billion pound football industry..... We have to give it to them.... ever cunning yet ever gracious but clear about what you need and eager to provide for a fee whilst cynically massaging your ego... Today, across the African continent even the poorest continue to contribute to financial supremacy of the English..... you see them huddled around small tv screens screaming themselves hoarse as the cheer or jeer rulethe PPL games, blissfully unaware how their eyeballs continue to enrich those who have always controlled them....albeit now indirectly!!! We must recognize the skills and learn from the tactical supremacy of the English.... Think about this ........Your support for man u or arsenal or Liverpool or any other is much more valuable to the English than any EPA .you could ever sign........
